I would like to thank everyone that participated in the Family Night out. It took many volunteers to put this event off and we all need to tell them thank you. The Chief of Police Michael Harris will graduate from CLEET on the 29th and will be back home in Geronimo. The Fire Department is doing an outstanding job and is looking for some new equipment.
We are working to improve Geronimo for all of our citizens. I would like to encourage people to come out to the City Hall meetings and to volunteer some time for our city. There are many areas we could use community support and assistance if you have a special skill or just want to lend a hand please stop by City Hall, we welcome all the assistance we can get. The grant for our sewage ponds was approved so we can now start the engineering piece of this project. We have been able to trim the cost of the project from $1.5 million dollars to $750K, this project will take time and a few years to complete, this current grant is step one and we have about 4-5 more steps to go each requiring Grant assistance.
Our community center needs your support; the group that funds the meals for our seniors is looking to cancel the meals if we do not get more participation. If you are a senior stop in to the community center in the mornings mingle and get to know each other or visit with friends and meet each other all over again. This is our community center and is there for the entire town, stop in and show your support.
We are still looking for Reserve Police officers, if you are interested stop by city hall and pick up an application. We still need volunteers for our Planning committee and others so please come out and help our City.
Let’s continue to make Geronimo a great place to grow; working together we can accomplish anything.
